The Axelrod Firm Partner Lisa Savitt and associate Leah DiMatteo recently helped a client reach a very successful outcome in a case pending in the Philadelphia Court or Common Pleas. They filed a motion for sanctions at the close of discovery on behalf of the Firm’s defendant client on the basis of a series of discovery disputes. After a hearing on the motion, the Judge entered an Order precluding the plaintiff from testifying at trial, precluding introduction of many of plaintiff’s documents, and precluding the testimony of most witnesses. The Judge also encouraged them to file a summary judgment motion and seek costs. Following entry of the sanctions order, the plaintiff discontinued its case with prejudice!
