After introductory remarks by Teresa Beck and prior to the GOOD Guys panel, Sheryl presented on, “Rewards of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.”
During this event, Sheryl was honored with a GOOD Guys Award for her over six and a half years (6½) years of service presenting at, and at times also moderating or serving as a panelist, at GOOD Guys programs across the country — literally from New York to California. See the picture of the award, the lovely note, and the custom coaster that were delivered to Sheryl following the event.
The GOOD Guys Chicago Leaders Edition Panel included Dennis Garcia, Assistant General Counsel, Microsoft, Michael Sachs, Major, Lindsey & Africa, and Craig Thedwall, CDR, JAGC, USN, Commanding Officer, Region Legal Service Office Midwest. See the picture of them with Sheryl, who appeared remotely for the first time at a GOOD Guys event.
GOOD Guys stands for Guys Overcoming Obstacles to Diversity. GOOD Guys is a program designed to break the impasse in women’s advancement by engaging people who have been missing from the conversation for too long – the guys!
Thanks also to the NCWBA and the CBA for allowing Sheryl to appear for this event remotely, and for ensuring the technology would run smoothly and everyone could hear her.
Finally, very special thanks to the NCWBA for the gorgeous award and coaster, and to Teresa Beck for the letter she sent about the award and coaster, and for the 6½ years she has spent working with Sheryl on GOOD Guys programs! Teresa first asked Sheryl to present at the inaugural GOOD Guys program at the American Bar Association Midyear Meeting Program on February 5, 2016.
Sheryl finds it a joy spreading the GOOD Guys message of encouraging men to engage in gender equity with Teresa.
Sheryl Axelrod presented at the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations’ GOOD Guys: Chicago Leaders Edition program at the NCWBA’s 2022 Women’s Bar Leadership Summit on August 4, 2022.

Thanks to the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations (NCWBA) and The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) for Co-Hosting this event and to its co-sponsors, the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and the INSTITUTE FOR INCLUSION IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION. These organizations do wonderful work in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space, and it’s an honor to have presented at a program they hosted and sponsored.
