To all our clients, colleagues, and friends,

During this difficult time around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that you and your loved ones are staying well.  Our team is fortunately healthy and taking all necessary precautions including working remotely.  We have been seamlessly doing so, continuing to serve our clients’ needs, including helping to answer a myriad of COVID -19-related employment questions. Thank you for your continuing trust in us.

The Axelrod Firm has always been engaged in philanthropy, supporting the community. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the pandemic and we are responding, increasing our support in 3 ways:

1. You may recall seeing images of Ms. Axelrod reading, with her daughter, Chloe, to the kindergarten scholars at the James G. Blaine School. Click here to read more information about that and to see the photos.  Ms. Axelrod reached out to their wonderful teacher, Maureen Brower (pictured), and sent the students of each parent who provided their address (virtually every child), the materials she thought would most benefit them educationally at this time. She recommended kindergarten workbooks and coloring books and asked their parents whether they would give us their home addresses so we could send them to them. Our amazing Office Manager, Kelly Walker, ordered the scholars of those who agreed the fabulous coloring books and crayons you see. Maureen surprised us by asking the scholars’ parents whether they would take photos we could share, thanking us (see her below email to us), and those who did are in the below *gorgeous* thank you card. Thank you, Kelly and Maureen!

2. We started a series on LinkedIn dedicated to leadership in the pandemic.  Ms. Axelrod’s posts include specific advice provided by doctors on how to stay safe beyond social distancing, hand washing, and wearing a mask in public, like what to do if someone in your home falls ill with the disease, how to handle the mail, and how to handle groceries.  Her posts also urge organizations to move equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion to the forefront, explain why they should do so, discuss the economic benefits doing so, and cover how companies, and each of you, can become diversity champions.  Posts like them have resulted in her having over 2,400 LinkedIn followers (in addition to her contacts).  Join her followers and stay informed.

3.  Firm Partner Lisa Savitt informed us about the Kinsa QuickCare Smart Thermometer.  The Firm then preordered them for all our employees so we will be able to not only check our temperatures, but contribute to the information Kinsa aggregates to keep medical professionals and all of us up to date on temperature levels across the country, a key indicator (when measured against past year’s data) on the spread of the virus.
